I always say if you can't buy it DIY it. . However there are many times when DIY is not an option either, because of time, materials or even skill restraint. I know I would never be able to create something as elegant as a Victorian lace top with out a lot of time and materials cost dedicated. It might be a fun project but it definitely isn't for every one. However, that doesn't mean you have to skip out of an item altogether. Often time (especially if it is following a popular/current trend) less expensive items of a similar nature exist in other stores.
